Monster, specializing company in career services has announced an alliance with MSN to provide services in ten European countries.

Just think, this collaboration will allow the employment portal to achieve major visibility of their employment offers across the MSN net, while offering a new service to their subscribers directly from their homepage.

Nowadays Monster’s services are available trough MSN in United Kingdom, France, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Norway and Sweden, they will extend Denmark in November 2007, and to Holland and Germany in January 2008.

I am not going to comment about the System in deed, since it has many deficiencies if we compare it with others (and it’s not beta). Microsoft makes pact with Novell

After years, the open source and proprietary software bring positions over. Microsoft has signed an agreement with Novell, who will lead them to collaborate in three basic items:

First, both companies sign a peace treatment on lawsuits for patents. Of course that will not concern Dell’s accusation against Microsoft raised in 2004, but from now Microsoft will not sue for violation of patents not even to particular developers of Linux.

Secondly, they will work together for compatibility not only on office automation products MS Office and Open Office, but also the operative systems, to facilitate the use of Windows and Suse simultaneously in the same machine.

Forrester’s report defends the capacities and knowledge of mature workers as company assets.

In opposition with the British press and blogsphere that have filled lately with commentaries about how the path of new technologies, in continuous transformation, needs young workers, in conditions to fight with the digital age; now Forrester’s report tries to finish with this attitude of scorn towards the major IT workers.

The affirmation that claims that mature people have difficulties to adapt to technology is “irresponsible and simply false”, as Phil Murphy makes clear in his report, directed to “avoiding the war” between young and mature workers.

How many Web sites are in Internet?

According to Web server’s last statistics elaborated by NetCraft, there are more than 100 million web sites in the whole world. As you can see in the graph, the growth has been enormous principally in the last 2 years. In August, 1995 they existed near than 19 thousand sites, in 2004 near than 50 million web sites and know more than 100 million.

According to the web statistics company, the main cause of this explosive growth of last two years, are blogs and small business web sites. Can you even imagine that? I do.

3 months ago, the India Supreme Court command the Coca Cola and Pepsico companies to reveal the secret formulas (ingredients and chemical composition) of their products, due to the fact that an ONG demand the information to discard a supposed presence of pesticides.

Today I find, that both “secret” formulas (not more) are already published in Internet. The page SodaMuseum has discovered both, besides divulging a lot of information related to each of the drinks (history, evolution, etc).

Java via an Open Source for Christmas

As you read and after a lot time of pressures. The CEO of Sun MicroSystem, Jonathan Schwartz, has officially announced that they will offer Java under a license approved by the Open Source Initiative.

The term about they think to take it to end is 30 to 60 days, in other words for Christmas Java will be an Open Source platform. It is necessary to mention that Sun’s decision was a discontentedly one, as a result to the pressure got for a group of developers (Tim Bray, Simon Phipps and Graham Hamilton between others) and IBM, who thought to initiate a Java opened version and distributed it under an Apache 2.0 license.
